WORK HISTORY

Brief Summary

Eagle Printing – While working as an intern at Eagle Printing, I worked as a graphic designer for many local businesses. I also loperated production printers, plate making, and several finishing techniques.

Sears Portrait Studio – Here, I learned about necessary functions of DSLR cameras in a studio setting, I also learned about lighting and external flash systems, posing, studio setup and design, and basic editing techniques. I also had the responsibility of selling portraits in a specified timeframe.

The Printer – As the only graphic designer at The Printer during this time, It was my responsibility to design everything that came through the door as well as take orders and manage customers. I also handled the majority of the printing done on the Printer and would occasionally help with some of the finishing processes. I would create promotions for The Printer, and help market them to new and existing customers. After change in ownership I worked with The Printer under my business Evermore Solutions, and helped as needed with marketing and customer acquisition, as well as door to door sales.

The Voice News – I learned how to write professional newspaper articles at The Voice News. Not having had experience in this field before was a very fun part of my career. It was humbling to learn how to write without inserting my own personal opinion about specific topics, and to just write facts about the local news. I enjoyed meeting locals and business owners and attending and photographing events. I also aided in the transition of setting the newspaper up in pagemaker to Adobe Indesign which proved to be much quicker. My responsibilities included journalism, photography, editing photos, page layout and proofreading.

Freelancer – While working at the portrait studio, I began searching for online freelance opportunities in the Graphic Design field. I managed to land a few jobs on a site called “Elance” where I worked with clients all over the world in a vast number of fields. One of my favorites were “Make Me Healthy” in Australia, I designed her logo and subsequently designed all the the packaging for her health and wellness supplements as well as printed materials upon request. I had several other long term clients on Elance and still to this day take a few jobs on the platform which is now named “upwork” (My public upwork profile and reviews can be found here)

Paralegal Services – I have been given a unique and amazing opportunity to act as a freelance paralegal expert for a Nebraska Panel of Defender lawyers at the Federal Level. Although this position is not directly related to Graphic Design, it has given me the confidence to reach outside of my skill set and learn how to do expert research. I’ve also since learned how to assist in FDCPA violation cases, and assist in the filing of Chapter 7 bankruptcies for one of the lawyers that I do paralegal work for outside of the federal system.

Evermore Solutions -In 2016 I transitioned from just a freelance designer and photographer and created and LLC, I pride myself in expanding my skillset. I take online courses, learn by practicing and taking on new challenges. In 2020 Evermore Solutions expanded to offer a variety of services to local businesses such as web design, listing management, Social Media Content Creation, and a host of other SEO related services.
I’ve also served as bookkeeper for a period of time which helped me to expand my attention to detail and helped in creating processes for checking and rechecking to make sure that everything is accurate.
I’ve been honored to meet many business owners in the community, and helped with several new and upcoming ventures. Some of my most recent actives include a platform called GHL (Go High Level). It is an online tool designed to take incoming leads from paid social media ads, organize them into a custom built pipeline which can be automated based on specific triggers to send email and text marketing messages, as well as placed into a call dialer and followed up with. Together with another marketing company, I have developed this system internally, designed ads, emails and text messages, sales automations, and trained sales staff for follow up and cold calling. One of the companies we’ve utilized this tool for sells feather flags and other large scale print materials, where I design on average 20 print pieces per week, working with business clients all over the United States.
“Amanda May Photography” also transitioned in 2016 to be a DBA company Evermore Photography. Even though this section of my business is mostly reliant on word of mouth advertisement, I continue to get several photo shoots each year. I also utilize my photography skills where they are valuable for food and product photography while working with local businesses.
